Acronis 12.5 Install failed (linux-kernel and source build)
Hello.
OS : Centos 6 32bit or redhat 6 32bit (It is my customer PC..)
Acronis Version : Acronis 12.5
I tried installing Acronis 12.5 on the customer's PC.
However, a installation was not possible due to an error that the directory containing the kernel source code could not be found. (See 01-error.jpg)
So I checked the source build path of that PC and found that the kernel version and source build were a bit different. (See 02-build.jpg)
I asked the customer to change the source build path. However, they said that the PC is a server PC that is currently used in the field, so it cannot be changed.
So I found another way.

But I do not know Linux well. So I don't know if this method affects running server PCs.
Can I suggest them the way? Or is there any other way to fix it without affecting their server operations?
In addition, on other test PCs, Acronis installation was successful even though the kernel version and source build name were different. (See 03-other pc build.jpg, 04-other pc success.jpg)
Thanks.

Thank you for the reply.
I read the link you gave me.
However, the server is currently running, so I'm careful to install the kernel, gcc, etc. there.
They want to install Acronis without changing the settings as much as possible.
So I wonder if the below method is the way to minimize the configuration change and install.

Hello.
You could follow these two articles, however, you would still need the required Linux packages listed in the documentation to be installed on your customer's Linux system: https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/AcronisBackup_12.5/index.html#22619.html
This article requires that you have already followed instructions from the documentation that I provided above: You should have the sources of your kernel or at least kernel headers installed to let Acronis software compile the necessary modules or to be able to do this manually.
This article explains how to compile the kernel on another machine and then move to the required one.
