Activity 'Creating crash-consistent (non-VSS) snapshot' failed. The operation is not allowed in the current state.
I can't get a backup to work. Before, I had the "Creating application-consistent (VSS) snapshot" failed error so I turned off VSS. This is a VDI with PCI Passtrough (NVidia GP104GL video card). VMWare tools running (current). No idea what to do next. Thank you in advance.

Hello Maria,
I'm convinced that snapshotting will not be possible because of the PCI passtrough device. Is there another way to make a backup without using snapshots?

Hello Bart.
I recommend that you install a respective Agent for Windows/Linux inside that VM and create a separate backup plan for it. Thus, it would not use VMware snapshot but native Windows VSS or Acronis VSS.

Hello Maria,
So if I understand correctly I need to take the backup as if it was a physical machine?
I will try this approach, thank you.

Hello Maria,
I installed the agent on the VDI yesterday and it backed up just fine. Thank you for the support!
