Thread needs solution

Hello all, I'm new to using Acronis and seem to be running into an issue when I try to recover a machine, it will reboot the machine and Acronis will report the following,

Activity 'Recovering volumes' failed. The activity has failed due to a planned restart of the operating system.

The backup is held on a storage server on the network. I can see all the files on the backup and everything is there. When I try and recover the entire machine from the AMS, It does this. Even if I uncheck "Automatically restart the machine if required" It will stop and say;

What to recover:
Disk 1 → Disk 1
Restart is required.

It will tell me that "Interaction is required" if I click "Rebbot" it reboots the machine and i'm met with the error above saying the Recover failed.

What am I doing wrong?

Hello James!

  • Does it also fail if you do leave the option "Automatically restart the machine if required" checked?
  • Can you restore with a bootable media?

Please also share your product version details.

Hello James,

welcome to Acronis forums!

It will tell me that "Interaction is required" if I click "Rebbot" it reboots the machine and i'm met with the error above saying the Recover failed.

You see this message because the target machine reboots in Acronis Linux environment for the restore process and Management Server loses this connection (in Windows). What happens on the target machine at this time? How does the restoration go there?

Please also refer to this KB article on how to restore using bootable media (please scroll down to the Recovery part): https://kb.acronis.com/content/35681/
