Backup fails
Hello,
With one of our customers the backup always fails. We only get the following error message: "The activity failed because the service process crashed".
The following message is displayed in the Event Viewer:
"Name of the faulty application: service_process.exe, Version: 12.5.1.14330, Timestamp: 0x5d4bea0a
Name of the faulty module: MSVCR120.dll, Version: 12.0.21005.1, Timestamp: 0x524f83ff
Exception code: 0xc0000409
Error offset: 0x000000000000074a30
ID of the faulty process: 0x2f04
Start time of the faulty application: 0x01d5986f9323643a
Path of the faulty application: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\Common\service_process.exe
Path of the faulty module: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\MSVCR120.dll
Report ID: 769117a4-a2d1-4d71-9ef8-1d0b17f1f14f"
A repair of the Acronis installation was not successful.
Anyone give a hint as to what the cause might be?
Thanks

This looks like an MSVCR (Miscrosoft Visual C Redistributable) compatibility issue. Looking at the dependency walker output of this service process looks like it has references to version 12.0.40660 (This is MSVCR 2013 update 5)
I have found this specific MSVCR version on all of my machines with an agent, so my best guess is to start by installing this version.
If it doesn't work contact Contact Support as it looks like a compatibility issue they might already know of or should know about.

Dear Peter
I'm afraid that didn't work out. The error still occurs. I have already opened a support ticket at Acronis. Unfortunately no reaction yet.
Thanks for your support.

Hello Peter,
welcome to Acronis forums!
We regret to know that you've encountered with service_process.exe crash. Since crash issues should be investigated by support, you did right that followed Peter's advise to open a case with Acronis Support Team.
In order to speed up the resolution process, I advise that you reproduce this issue and collect ProcDumps and Acronis System Information from the Agent where backup fails.
