Change backup file format (date)

Thread solved

Hello,

I want to change the name of the backup file.
So I went to the appropriate schedule> Backup options> Backup file name.
And I wanted to change it to the format below.

[Machine ID]_[Date]_[Unique ID]

However, I tried entering Date, Day, etc. in the Date field, but the date was not displayed.

I want to add a date, what should I do?

Hello Lemoning,

thank you for posting this question on Acronis forums!

For backup format Version 12 there is no point in adding a date to a backup name: a backup archive is created as a single file, which is regularly updated accordingly with the schedule. That is why this variable is not available. However, you can view the dates as recovery points when browsing this archive.

As for a backup format of Version 11 (except Always incremental (single-file) backup scheme), a date is added to backup file names.

Please read more on backup file names here at: https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/AcronisCyberBackup_12.5/index.html#37604.html
