Dashboard - Storage use is not accurate
Hello,
I'm not sure if this has been already reported or if it's just a feature (you maybe don't plan to change), but just in case: storage usage stats/graph in Dashboard (r14330) is weird.
It works in a way that it just blindly adds up all Locations together with no logic behind it.
Example:
You have 1 storage node
On this storage node, you have 2 Vaults/Locations
Both vaults are located on the same 2TB partition (so, sharing the same space)
And also, let's say that you have 200GB of backups in Vault 1 and 400GB of backups in Vault 2.
What would I expect to see in Dashboard? I would expect to see Total space 2.00 TB, Backups 600GB, Free 1400GB .
What would r14330 Dashboard show me? Total space 4.00 TB, Backups 600GB, Free 3400GB
I think you see what the problem is and the more Vaults/Locations located on the same Host (and partition) have, the more nonsense numbers you get for Total space and Free space.
Usually, that's not a problem as we try to keep 1 Location per 1 Storage node (per 1 Organization Unit) if possible, but in a few cases we have 2 or more Locations (for example for old v11 backups or as an Export location) on the same storage node.
At least it's showing correct storage usage in the Locations menu, but Dashboard itself is unusable in cases like this.
It's not a big deal, but I think it would be nice if the Storage stats would take vault's Host and archive location into consideration.
Thank you
Lukas
