How load will be shared to three appliances connected to Same vCenter Appliance .

Thread needs solution

Let's Assume , I have deployed 3 appliances as agents connected to same vCenter Instance.

If I restore multiple virtual machine backups to vCenter simultaneously , how load will be shared to appliances for restoration jobs.

Will it be really a good practice when restore multiple backups at a time in this scenario . Please Suggest.

Hello PCN VA,

Welcome to Acronis forums!

This appliance restores the archive that is selected for browsing the backup archive.

If you restore VM by selecting it from Devices list (select a VM and follow the Recovery tab) then it will be browsed with the Agent (appliance) that is bound to this VM. Thus it could be that several VMs are bound to the same appliance.

So the user selects the appliance that will perform restore. As long as your backup location and ESXi host can sustain the increased bandwidth for reading data from the archive and writing it to datastore when performing multiple restores in parallel.
