remote-updating Windows-Agents to newer build with Management-Server on Linux

Thread needs solution

Hi together,

i updated the (Linux) management server to the new build a few days ago. Now I want to update the agents to the same build. I read the KB article 59131 and I am wondering if there is no way to update the agents remotely without running the installer on each of the clients?

Best wishes,

Philipp

Hello Philipp!

Yes according to the KB59131 remote update for the agents doesn't work on linux machines. Unattended installation KB has a linux section though, so you could mass re-install/update the agents: https://kb.acronis.com/content/59780

Hello Peter,

thank you for this tip. But this method only works for Linux management server and linux clients, doesn't it? I have a linux server but windows clients.

Hello PP,

thank you for posting this question on Acronis forums!

The remote installer component can be installed on a Windows-based machine with AMS. Thus, it is impossible to remotely update Windows Agents from a Linux server.
