Scheduler Service Error?
Hello, I'm not good at English. Understand me please. I use Acronis Backup 12.5. This happened yesterday dawn. Yesterday was a day without a backup schedule. But Acronis Scheduler Service is worked. That is not normally run. It used almost all CPU and memory. I stopped and restarted the Acronis service. After that, the process worked normally. and I checked the Windows event log. Timeout reached while waiting for transaction response from service AcrSch2Svc. (30000 milliseconds) However, I could not see any work in the Activities in the Acronis console page. Has anyone experienced the same phenomenon as me? What is the cause of this? Thank you.

Hello Lemoning,
welcome to Acronis forums!
I agree that this issue should be investigated by Acronis Support Team. If it happens again, please collect Process Monitor Logs right after reproducing and share them with support engineers.

I checked the schedule2 process log.
And I saw it malfunctioning.
If the current schedule setting is set to 2 AM on the 10th of every month, it will run once at 2 AM on the 10th of every month. The schedule2 process checks that it is scheduled once more at 3:00 pm on the 24th of every month.
And I confirmed that the first test backup after Acronis installation was at 3 pm on the 24th.
In other words, the Schedule 2 process was mistaken for a backup schedule that does not currently exist.
I will try running the tools "remove_history_mms" and "remove_pending_activities". If the symptom is still the same, reinstall Acronis.
I think reinstalling it will fix it, but I hope this will be fixed in the next version.

Hello Lemoning!
I have a few suggestions:
- Query the scheduled tasks and see if there is a task there for the undesired backup: https://kb.acronis.com/SchedulerManager
- Check if you have any disabled backup plans with these schedules. I experienced instances when it would run despite being disabled.
- Check the time is in sync on AMS and agent machine

Hello Lemoning,
you can share here your shedreport.txt and schedul2.log here if you need help in identifying mistakenly scheduled tasks. Otherwise, please upload the entire Acronis System Information gathered from the Agent where your customer sees unscheduled tasks to Acronis FTP link that I've sent you in a Private Message.

Hello Lemoning.
Analysis of shedreport.txt showed that the unscheduled task is ACEP report that you agreed to run on your system when installing Acronis Backup for the first time.
Acronis Customer Experience Program (ACEP) is a way to allow all Customers to automatically contribute to the features, design and development of Acronis products. This program enables Customers to provide Acronis with various information, including information about the hardware configuration of your host computer and/or virtual machines, the features you use most (and least), and the nature of the issues you face. Based on this information, Acronis will be able to improve the products and the features you use most often.
If you choose to participate, Acronis will be automatically collecting information about your hardware configuration and the way you use Acronis products. No personal data, like your name, address, phone number, or keyboard input is collected. Participation in the CEP is voluntary.
You can leave the program any time by accessing Tools->Options in the product.
Your contact information is not collected by the ACEP, which means you will not be contacted because of your participation in the program. The ACEP will not ask you to participate in surveys or to read junk e-mail, and you will not be contacted in any other way.

Hi, Maria.
If the process was running because of ACEP, can you disable the ACEP function without reinstalling Acronis?
You told me
"You can leave the program any time by accessing Tools-> Options in the product."
But I didn't find that menu in Acronis 12.5.
And I found a way to utilize schedmgr.exe. Can I delete the acepreporter related task as shown in the attached image?
Thank you for your kind reply.

Hello Lemoning.
Please be accurate with task number when deleting a task with Acronis Scheduler Manager : it should be task 3-1 in your case.
Here is an instruction on how to disable ACEP:
If you installed Windows Agent:
- Run Acronis Scheduler Manager on the machine that gives the error. See Acronis Scheduler Manager;
- Issue the following command:
get list
- The program will display the list of tasks. In the list of displayed tasks, note the number of the script that has the same name as the one that produces error entries in the log:
For example: 1-12
- Issue the following commands to delete the task:
task [script number]
task deleteFor example:
task 1-12
task delete
If you installed Virtual Appliance:
- Switch to the Virtual Appliance console (Press Ctrl-Shift-Alt-Space-F1, then Alt-F2);
- Issue the following command:
rm -rf var/lib/Acronis/Scheduler/tasks/user1/1/
- Press Alt-F1 to switch back to Virtual Appliance GUI and press the Reboot button to restart the Virtual Appliance.

Hi, Maria
This problem seems to be solved in the way you informed me.
However, I think this should be conveyed to Acronis. I did not agree with ACEP when installing Acronis on that equipment.
However, it seems to be a problem that ACEP related schedule is in operation.
Maybe this is a bug? If you think this is a bug, can you forward this case to Acronis development?
I hope this is fix.
+ I installed and verified Acronis on my virtual machine without ACEP consent.
I checked the Acronis schedule with schedmgr.exe.
And I confirmed that the ACEP schedule was set.
Thank you for confirming this problem precisely.

Hello Lemoning.
Glad to know that you have successfully got rid of the unnecessary task. It was your idea, I have just provided you with detailed instructions.
I should thank you for revealing this ACEP task and pointing out that our ACEP documentation is not up-to-date. I will be discussing it with respective Product Managers and will post the output here.

Hello Lemoning.
There is a testing task has been registered for checking the unscheduled ACEP task (ABR-261478).
