SQL Instance browse from Acronis console

Thread solved

Hi Acronis,

I have an open case since a lot of days and I found myself in the need of coming to the forum to seek for assistance... Case number is 04631970

We cannot browse the SQL instances of two Windows Server 2016 in order to create backup plans... When we go to Devices\Microsoft SQL we just see what's shown in the screenshot attached.

Can you please give us feedback on where to look at?

Thank you.

Hello No No,

thank you for posting on Acronis forums!

Since this issue is quite specific, it requires an individual investigation. We recommend that you continue working with Acronis Support Team.

First of all, please check if all the prerequisites are met for these SQL instances and the required user rights are assigned.

If everything is ok, then please collect Acronis System Information from the AMS server and from the Agent for SQL server. Please share both reports with Acronis support engineers who work on your case.

Hello Nono!

For future reference can you share which permissions needed to be set?

-- Peter

The domain service user I was using to run the AMS service was not sysadmin of the instance! I thought the account was member of one of the sysadmin groups but it was not!

Hope that helps!
