From SQLite to SQL
Hi,
our Acronis 12.5 advanced server is getting more and more units and it will increase the number of managed machines on each unit by a lot in the upcoming weeks.
We originally installed the management server using the Built-in SQLite option for the database. Are there any benefits or any limitations we wont have if we migrate the actual DB to SQL Server?
How can we migrate everything to a SQL Server without losing any data? Is it required that we open a support case?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Ekaterina,
thank you for your help.
What is the easiest way to backup all the SQLite databases in order to restore them in the SQL Server?
Thank you

You can accomplish this task through the SQL Server Management Studio, as described in https://kb.acronis.com/content/46745
However, I'd still suggest the second option (https://kb.acronis.com/content/61354) - install a new AMS and import old plans and registered agents. In this case the AMS database will be updated correctly. When you copy the old SQL db and place it on the new server, there are high chances of getting more issues.

So I was looking at this post, and it doesn't seems accurate. Your suggesting taking a backup with sql server mgmt studio. But the source db is sqlite. Can SQL serve mgmt studio open sqlite databases? I thought it could just do sqlexpress or sql.

Hi! I think the OP meant the SQL Express indeed, as this is the built-in option for Acronis Management Server installation, not SQLite.

Hello Alejandro,
thank you for posting on Acronis forums!
Yes, SQLite is embedded in Management Server in Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 (and you can specify an external Microsoft SQL Server instance during the management server installation).
SQL Express Server was installed with Management Server for Acronis Backup 11.7.
