Tape corrupted after backup

Thread needs solution

Hi,

can any kind souls please kindly advise me on this matter whereby why will the backup job suddenly tell me that my tape have some changes and the data might be corrupted and prompts me to rescan the tape. After which, the tape will automatically shift to unrecognized tape pool and states that the data inside is no longer available. It happened to me twice and now both of my tapes are "corrupted". Can anyone please point me out to what could be the possible cause of this?

Backup was running fine for 7 days and after which the 8th day tape was deemed as "some changes was made to the tape" in the error log, subsequently did a rescan and tape went to unrecognized pool. Backup plan then used another available tape in the pool to backup and it works for another 7 days and after which encountered the same error again.

I've uploaded the error logs and a screenshot after rescanning of tape.

Hello Jason,

thank you for posting on Acronis forums!

Please use a cleaning tape to clean up your tape drive. Please contact your tape drive manufacturer for more information on a cleanup procedure. The issue could be in your tape drive.

If it does not help, please collect Acronis System Information from a server where the tape drive is attached or from a server with Acronis Storage Node if it installed and share it with Acronis Support Team for investigation.
