Will 12.5 Work The Same For Me As 11.7 ?

Thread needs solution

I currently use Acronis Backup Workstation 11.7.50088 It does everything I need it to. I run it from a USB Flash Drive to backup and to restore. My OS is Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I am using SATA mechanical hard disks booted in BIOS. I have an intel hd controller and a Marvell 88SE9172 controller. I have to use Win PE 3.0 on USB Flash because the Linux CD Boot Image does not see the Marvell Controller. The only reason I am contemplating upgrading to 12.5 is that Acronis no longer provides support for 11.7 Is there anything that I am currently doing that I will not be able to if I upgrade ? Is there any discount for upgrading vs someone who is purchasing for the first time ? TIA

Hello,

thank you for posting on Acronis forums!

There should not be any issues with Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5. However, the better way to check whether everything is smooth in your scenario on your hardware is to test a trial version.

If you don't have a valid maintenance for your perpetual license or an active subscription license, you should purchase a new Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 license. Please consult the following KB article for more details: https://kb.acronis.com/content/59467#Upgrade_questions1

I'd also recommend taking a read of the article Difference between Acronis Backup Advanced 12.5 and 11.7

Thank you Maria and thank you Ekaterina.

I will look at the two articles, before I try a test version. You never know what is going to happen when you install a piece of trial software, so I wanted to know if there were any obvious issues before I attempted that.

Happy New Year.
