acrocmd and replication plans

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I wonder if there is a way to address replication plans with acrocmd, i.e.

acrocmd enable plan

acrocmd disable plan

acrocmd run (any unscheduled plan...)

I am not even sure, what would be the right GUID.

If I disable the plan in web console, Acronis shows the plan as canceled and lists a GUID in brackets.

Running the command

acrocmd enable plan --id=THAT_GUID

I get an error message "the name of the plan could not be called" (in German language) and that was it.

If I try

acrocmd run task  --id=THAT_GUID

I get a success message (The operation completed successfully.), but nothing visible happens.

acrocmd list plans --output=raw

lists only existing Backup plans

acrocmd list tasks

is also missing the Replication plans

So currently nothing really works for me. Switching the plans from replication to direct backups has also its issues, especially the time required for full tape backups.

Best greetings from Germany
Olaf

Hello Olaf!

Looking at the command line reference, there doesn't seem to be a command to run an existing replication plan, and listing plans will only list protection plans as you observed.

There is a replicate command though, which can replicate one or all backups of an archive. Combined with the listing commands you can probably make a script to do the same as in a plan.

Wow - long not seen - writing a long text and losing it because the account is no longer logged in if going back to the previous page.

So the short form answer now:

acrocmd replicate seems only to work locally on the management server and eventually requires the source or the target be on local volumes as well unless maybe you add credentials in clear text. A simple access denied is not very helpful here. This (using only local sources and targets or add clear text credentials) is something I cannot do. Why doesn't the software simply use Windows credentials of the executing user for acrocmd permission check unless told otherwise?

Also have not yet found a way for acrocmd replicate to use a local standalone tape as target.

And would be a great thing, if Acronis could convert this entire command to a PowerShell module.

Best greetings from Germany
Olaf

Hello Olaf.

This (using only local sources and targets or add clear text credentials) is something I cannot do. Why doesn't the software simply use Windows credentials of the executing user for acrocmd permission check unless told otherwise?

You can specify any remote location the following way: https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/AcronisCyberProtect_15_Command_Line_Reference/#host.html?Highlight=--host

--host=<IP address or hostname>

Also have not yet found a way for acrocmd replicate to use a local standalone tape as target.

Do you experience any issues specifying the tape the following way?

https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/AcronisCyberProtect_15_Command_Line_Reference/#loc.html

atis:///tape?<GUID of attached library>
