Cannot backup subdirectory on SMB share, invalid credentials BUG

Thread needs solution

\\servername\share

works as a backup source.

\\servername\share\folder (browse the share and select a subfolder to back up)

fails with invalid credentials, using the exact same credentials.

Looks like there is a bug here, anybody know of workarounds? My NAS doesn't allow me to share that folder as a separate share.

There is also another annoying bug in the network share select UI, where it automatically expands all subfolders when you add a share, but the "-" to collapse the subfolders doesn't work (nothing happens when you click on it). If  you add several shares, the list becomes super long and extremely difficult to navigate.

Hello!

Welcome to the forum!

Please check the following KB's:

https://kb.acronis.com/content/67540

https://kb.acronis.com/content/67624

https://kb.acronis.com/content/67536

Please check also if all the sharing permissions are granted. Without this the agent won't have access. Also make sure your agent is updated to the latest version.

If the issue persists, please raise a ticket with our support or add here the full error code https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153

Thanks in advance!

Thanks but I'm not sure you read my post. The same credentials work for the root folder. This is clearly a bug.

I can't open a support ticket because this is a pre-sales issue, I'm using the trial. The web UI won't let me open a ticket on a product I don't own. So I guess I won't be buying this software.

Hello Stanko,

This thread is quite outdated.

If you are facing issues with the SMB, please raise a ticket with our support, providing screenshots that illustrate the problem, along with the system report of one machine: https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153

Best regards.

it is not so outdated, since it is only 6 months old.

And I already had same problem before, where was problem with particular Build and was resolved in newer one.

I will raise a Ticket and report back after.
