Cannot select version 11 backup format

Thread needs solution

I Have Protect Standard Windows Server Essentials on Cyber Protect 15. When creating a new plan there is nowhere to select version 11 backup format. I wish to write separate files for full, differential, incremental etc.

It used be an option that has now disappeared. Any help on locating this option please?

Hello Nick!

Apparently this was deprecated in Acronis v15 and you can't change it anymore. The option is only there for plans you carried from an earlier Acronis version, so you can continue those backup chains. Though the guide (6.12.5) is a bit confusing since it specifically suggests v11, if you want your backups in separate files, which you can no longer select.

What do you intend to use this separation scheme for?

Hi Peter. Yes I had a plan carried over from 12.5 that used separate files. When creating a new plan the option is no longer available.

Issue with this is that my backup location replicates offsite and the single file is re-written every night.

Although it replicates on the block level it still takes much longer than replicating individual files for differential backups.

Now i don't have this option i might as well go to incremental backups

Hello Nick!

I'm confused if you are replicating only a single file, why do you need them separate?

Replication can work with individual restore points, not just entire archive chains. No need to separate them to different files if you want this.

The single file is changed for each daily backup and therfore re-replicated every night.

With the seperate files only the new incremental or differential backup files were replicated offsite each night.

Hello Nick,

thank you for posting this forum thread!

Sorry for the delayed response.

The Version 11 format is present in Acronis Cyber Protect 15 in Backup options.

However, this backup is not supported by Always incremental backup scheme since it writes all backups in a single file .tibx file.
