Cleaning Tape Bug v15.0.27009

Thread needs solution

Just wanted to submit what I believe is a bug.  Little background first:

Win 2019 w/Quantum LTO5 tape library, weekly backups to tape (1 job), daily backups to tape (2 jobs), 1 tape in the tape library is a cleaning tape without a barcode label.  All other tapes are barcoded.

When the last inventory was done, somehow the cleaning tape made it into the free tape pool. When the weekly backup ran, the cleaning tape was pulled and loaded in the drive.  Instead of recognizing this as a cleaning tape and trying the next tape, it hung the job in an active state for days until I finally cancelled it.  Once cancelled, everything went back to normal.  Other tape backup software I've used in the past (Arcserve, etc.) does not even allow the cleaning tape to go into the free pool.

Welcome to Acronis forums!

Acronis software does not detect a cleaning tape as a cleaning tape yet. If you did Fast inventorying this tape has been moved to free tapes pool. 

We recommend that you can create a special pool for it and move this cleaning tape there to avoid such situations in future.
