Cloud Backup basic questions
Am considering backing up to the cloud. I have some basic questions. I've always backed up to NAS.
Number 1 for us is performance. I only have 100mbps internet. Backups get large, routinely over 100gb on the base backup. I've always done differential backups. I could switch to incremental to make subsequent backups smaller.
Anyway..
1. Will Acronis cloud backup work for us? How is the performance?
2. I already have google one with 2tb storage. Can I use another cloud solution like google drive?
3. Does it backup to the cloud directly or to a local drive first and then sync to the cloud?
4. If I ever needed to restore from the cloud, would I have to download image backup first or can I restore directly from the cloud?
TIA.

Hello Eva!
How many computers do you have and what schedule?
What is your intranet bandwith to the NAS?

Mainly interested in backing up 4 servers to the cloud. These backups are done nightly. We have dedicated fiber but only at 100mbps. One of the servers is >200gb for the base, incrementals would not be that big. The other servers are smaller, at <50gb for the base. Currently doing differential to NAS. Will continue to backup our PCs to NAS. Intranet bandwidth is 1g.

Hello Eva!
In that case cloud may be an option for offsite storage. Probably worth keeping the backup to NAS and setting up a replication from there to cloud. This way restores could be faster if they are available locally, but have the additonal safeguard of having backups at another location.
