Delete last backup in a chain: file is only filled with 0 ???

Thread needs solution

Hey there,

maybe again one episode of "why Acronis, why"....

I have a backup plan that runs every saturday morning with a full backup, on each other day incrementals are made.

The retention rules keep the last 8 fulls.

Each full backup is approx. 30-35GB

Today I deleted the most recent full backup in the chain via the GUI.

My assumprion was: the last tibx file is deleted.

The reality is:
The most recent tibx file is still that large (35 GB) but only the first 16kByte contains data. the rest is.....zeroes !

Why
- is this file still existing?
- is it that large and not compressed (backup plan is configured for normal compression?

It is a backup format v12 with encryption.....

S.
