Designation of backup LAN

Thread solved

Best regards.

We are planning to deploy Acronis Cyber Protect15 in an on-premise environment.
The backup target is a Linux machine with two NICs, one for the business LAN and one for the administrative LAN.
The Acronis server also has two NICs, one for the business LAN and one for the management LAN.

In this case, the Acronis server is configured to back up using the management LAN when backing up with Acronis.

Hello!

There may be some limitations regarding that environment.

Please refer to the following KB:

(This article describes how Acronis Cyber Protect and Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud could be made to work with specific LACP Bonding setups.

Note: Keep in mind this will work only for bonding mode 802.3ad/LACP)

KB Article Link

Also, note that NIC Teaming (in Windows) or Network Bonding (in Linux) is currently not supported in the bootable media environment of Acronis Cyber Protect 15 and earlier Acronis products.

Check also the following:

  • Verify that the network configurations on both the Acronis server and the backup target (Linux machine) are correctly set up for the management LAN.
  • Confirm that the NICs assigned for the management LAN are properly connected and configured with the appropriate IP addresses and subnets.
  • Ensure that firewalls on both the Acronis server and the backup target are configured to allow communication over the management LAN.
  • Check permissions and access controls to make sure that the Acronis server can communicate with the backup target over the management LAN.

Testing:

  • Perform test backups to confirm that data is being backed up successfully over the management LAN.
  • Monitor the backup process for any errors or issues related to network connectivity.

You can purchase our onboarding service to help you with configuring the product: Acronis Onboarding Service

If that doesn't fit your expectations, I suggest you raise a ticket with our support at Support Ticket Link so everything can be reviewed and confirmed.

Best regards.

Thank you for your prompt response.!
I will refer to what you have given me and the kb information.

I am sorry for the way I asked my question, but if we have a business LAN and a management LAN,
Is it possible to specify the management LAN in the Acronis settings to get backups?
I can't seem to find anything about it in the manual, so I would like to know if it is possible.
The management LAN is not bonded.
