full XFS support
The Cyper Protect 15 Supported file systems list some grave limitations for XFS file systems:
- Files cannot be excluded from a disk backup
- Fast incremental/ differential backup cannot be enabled
- Volumes cannot be resized during a recovery
- Recovering files from a backup stored on a tape is not supported
XFS is powerful, stable and established. How can a customer emphasizing on XFS perform proper Acronis backups?
What are the plans to enhance XFS support?
Kind regards, Tom

Jose Pedro, thanks. Can we second this feature request to further its timely implementation?
We cannot really wait too long.

Hi Tom.
Certainly, I understand your urgency.

Pedro, thanks for your update.
I contacted support to emphasize the importance of this functionality.
They told me that the issue is being actively being worked on, but an estimated time cannot be given.
I can only ask other readers out there to also urge acronis product management to further this issue.
Thanks, Tom

Hello Tom!
Thanks for the updates. The introduction of the new features depends a lot on the demands from our clients. The more requests we have, more votes are added to the feature and chances to the same to be implemented ( if it doesn't affect the architecture of the product itself ).
Regarding this one effectively I can't tell you a time frame because at the moment we don't have.
Hopefully it will be introduced in a near future!
Thanks in advance.

Hello!
As far as I can see, the same limitations persist:
- Files cannot be excluded from a disk backup.
- Fast incremental/differential backup cannot be enabled.
- Volumes cannot be resized during recovery.
- Recovering files from a backup stored on a tape is not supported.
The ETA has not been updated so far, but I left a message to the team.
Best regards.

Jose, thanks for keeping us updated here. XFS is proven solid, and suggested as default for data partitions, e.g. in SuSE Enterprise Linux. Acronis *really* should provide full support for securing XFS data partitions!
