Linux

Thread needs solution

We are using Acronis Cyber Protect 15 simply for the command line.

We have a system running on RH linux 6 with an ext4 filesystem. The system has one SSD.

We wish to backup that SSD using Acronis and then restore it to other SSDs on a different computer running RHEL 08 with an xfs file system.

We do the same thing for a system running on Windows 10, using a different Windows machine to restore and everything works as we'd expect.

We have tried a wide variety of the backup and restore commands - sometimes the backup works - sometimes the restore works - but mostly they don't. Quite often during restore, it wants to reboot at the end.

I would think that an image could be restored to an SSD regardless of what in in the image.

Is this even doable on Linux? or is there another product with a command line interface which actually works ?

Thanks,

Martin

Hello Martin,

Welcome to Acronis forums!

We have tried a wide variety of the backup and restore commands - sometimes the backup works - sometimes the restore works - but mostly they don't. Quite often during restore, it wants to reboot at the end.

Please describe the issue in more details:

- the types of backups (file/disk/entire pc);

- examples of the commands and the syntax you use;

- the activity log with the error message you receive in case of a failure.
