VM with agent doesn't register with Acronis Cyper 15

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have deployed the agent for vmware appliances to my cluster/hosts and I have a sql server that I want to backup. The server is 2022 so application aware backup for sql server is not available according the documentation with agent for vmware. I installed the agent for windows/SQL on the guest OS directly. This agent does not show up in the console. I can only backup this server using the vmware appliance. I know the agent is calling home I captured the traffic in wireshark, it's just not showing up as an agent in the console.

What am I missing?

Thank you.

Hello Dallas.

Please try the following solutions:

- re-add the machine manually to the console: https://kb.acronis.com/content/59828

- Firewall and Network Connectivity: Ensure that the necessary ports and network connectivity are available between the agent and the Acronis console. It's important to check if any firewalls or network configurations are blocking communication between the two. ( you can try to run the connection tool and check if there is any closed port or IP: https://kb.acronis.com/content/47678 , and if yes , you should open them ).

- Use the OpenSSL to troubleshoot issues with the firewall: https://kb.acronis.com/content/62641

- Check the network settings of the VM and make sure everything is settled properly: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.vm_adm…

Please let us know if the issue was resolved after applying the solutions.

If the issue persists, please contact our support with the logs of the tests executed above https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153 .

Thanks.
