Aronis....is that really true ?

Thread needs solution

Well I am with Acronis Backup Advanced since 11.7 - and I took some up and downs since then.

And now I had some brief view on Acronis Cyber Protect.......

Honestly spoken I cannot believe what I see:

- Antivirus
Nice idea, but is it really an expectation of Acronis to switch off the established working Antivirus solution ?
Well it would be worth a thought if - and only if - there wouls be more details on which engine is used, which turnaround times can be expected for new signatures and so on.
The sole information "100% recognition", "VB-100 certificated" is much too less to have a base for comparison.

- WOL
In 11.7 there was the option wo wake the machines by WOL at the time of the planned backups.
This was dropped for the later versions.
Multiple callbacks leads to the answer that there it is postponed to future updates.... (internal feature ID: ABR-122336).
In March 2018 I was told "we are working on it"....really ?
Well when will this future happen ?

- ABR-63219, ABR-111317
These are tickets dealing with the issue that after an error the "command after backup" is not executed and that there should be a command "really" at the end of a task.
I was told serveral times, that Acronis is working on it (since mid of 2018).
Now 2 years later.....nothing.

- changes from default
In mid of 2018 I asked
**
One cool feature of 11.7 was, that it was shown if a plan´s options differ from the standard backup options.
This was extremely helpful if the standard options were changed.
This feature is gone.....it´s now rather hard if a plan has specific settings to see them fast.
I have to check each setting manually....

The answer was

We may re-introduce the changes tracking when editing a backup plan, at some point in the future.

Well...this is still not psossible.

There are new fancy bling-bling-options but features that would ease the work of administration are droppped and never seen again....bit disappointing.

Well...a short reaction from an Acronis member would have been great.

This is normal for Acronis. I had a problem with the scheduler which resulted in massive false warnings every month and it took acronis months to admit the error. Main problem was the useless first level support and the testing guys who tested in a completely different way than i specified... In the end it took 3 years and v12 is still affected and they said i should upgrade to v15. The scheduler there is rewritten and should no longer have this error. We will see.

Since the start of v12 i asked the support for the feature to manual plan the deduplication compact task, which was possible in 11.7. They said it will be added in the future. Never happened, too.

And i could continue whith such storys...
