Differences between Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 and Acronis Cyber Backup 15.

Thread solved

Hello.

I am comparing Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5 and Acronis Cyber Backup 15.
(Not Acronis Cyber Protect 15.)

I have read the "Acronis_Cyber_Protect_15_Editions_Comparison" document.
But I haven't found a difference between 12.5 and 15 yet.

Could you please tell me the difference between 12.5 and 15?

Thank you.

Hello Peter,

The link you gave us was very helpful.
But I have some additional inquiries.

Among the comparison items, there is an item called "VM finalization". What is this function?

Thank you.

Hello Peter,

I have additional questions.

I need a description of the functions below.
(Which function or from which menu you can see the following functions, etc.)

Shared protection plans
Centralized plans management
Group and policy management
Single protection plan for all cyber protection aspects

Thank you.

Hello Lemoning!

Among the comparison items, there is an item called "VM finalization". What is this function?

Found this about the subject: http://dl.managed-protection.com/u/backup/help/12/user/en-US/index.html#35687.html

This is how I understood these features based on experience and reading the docs:

  • Shared protection plans: I'm completely lost on this one. I've only recently started bumping into this feature in the context of 15. The available docs don't seem to reference this feature with this name.
  • Centralized plans management: As far as I know this is the ability to have a backup plan applied to multiple machines, instead of having a plan for each
  • Group policy: Deploy agents via group policy, looks the same feautre as in 12.5
  • Single protection plan for all cyber protection aspects. It looks like backup plans became protection plans and cover a lot more than just backup. Like the things acronis active protection did, but more. Have a look at the attached picture from the guide of 15.

To be honest I wouldn't mind a tooltip for the features either. Most of the time they are so high level features you can't find them being called so in the guide.

I remember there was a menu item named Credentials or something like that in under Settings 12.5. I miss this in version 15.

Best greetings from Germany

Hello Olaf!

Not sure what you are referring to. I'm still using 12.5, but there's no such menu.
