Replication to tape stuck at Pending...

Thread solved

Since upgrading one host to Cyber Backup 15 update 1 replication to tape fails.

The jobs simply hang at Pending stage. This happens if I use one of the preexisting pools.

Also: If I create a new tape pool through tape management (or by any other means) this pool does not show up in Backup Storage node and cannot be added as target. Local folders still can be added.

Support could not help in their first attempts (their recommendations: restore database from Acronis 12.5 backup - which I do not have do to weird circumstances or perform a fresh install after cleaning out all information).

Sure there should be some way to only reset the (tape) storage related data?

Well, moving the files in C:\ProgramData\Acronis\VaultManager away and performing a repair install helped me to rebuild the vault.

Intermediate I also removed the database from C:\ProgramData\Acronis\BackupManager, found that this not works well, restored it, restored also the original VaultManager database, could not longer find a tape device, installed on top of the installed version with adding a feature with still the same issue.

Finally step one a second time and now I can add tape pools properly again. Not sure what in this entire mess helped.

Was another messed up weekend afternoon thanks to Acronis.

Hello Olaf,

thank you for posting on Acronis forums!

Unfortunately, you have not shared any activity log with a failing replication error.

Support could not help in their first attempts

Please share with us your support case number so that we could look into the situation.

If you restored old versions (before Update 1) of VaultManager and BackupManager, then we can't guarantee that they will not become corrupted when working with Update 1.

These files were the Update 1 files, since I had no proper backup from former versions.
