Says backup successful, then gives error of incomplete backups?

Thread needs solution

Recently, whenever one of our devices backs up it says complete. However the next day or so it says "No successful backups have been performed by the backup plan for more than <n> days".

This does not make any sense to me, does anyone know what may be causing this or how it might be solved?

EDIT: I have looked in the backup storage section and the backups are there and are dated correctly.
