Acronis blocking my network shares
Hello all.
I have 2 NAS on my network with multiple shared folders between them
When I start the computer, I am unable to access these shares, designated Drive Y and Drive Z
Drive Y = QNAP
Drive Z = Western Digital MyCloud
I found 3 ways to resolve this
a) if I pause the Acronis protection, I am easily able to access thse drives and then unpause the protection
b) I run
net stop workstation /y
net start workstation
in a DOS administration window
c) restart the computer. This is only sometimes successful, which is odd.
If I turn off the computer, then on, this issue starts up again
I am using Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office, build 401731
Any suggestions?
Pat

Ditto to Ian, I never map network drives to my NAS and haven't seen this type of issue.
Are you using the same credentials for your mapped drives and Acronis? If yes, then try setting up a separate NAS user for your Acronis backups as there are known issues with how Microsoft handles these connections from different applications. I have different NAS user accounts for accessing my various different shared folders on the NAS, i.e. for Synology Drive Client and Acronis.

Thank you for the suggestions.
However, Acronis is backing up to my NAS with no issues.
I am not able to access any of these mapped drives with the protection on.
As mentioned, I have to turn off the protection for a few seconds so I can access the drives. As soon as I can do so, I can turn on the protection again.
ie. It's sort of a firewall effect. I have to turn it off, access the drive, then turn it back on.
re: credentials, yes, it's the same credentials to the NAS drive for the backup.

At this point I can only suggest raising this issue directly with Acronis by opening a support ticket and see if they can offer an answer for why you are seeing this behaviour?

Web Guy,
Have you tried accessing these drives using Explorer after starting your computer and before access is attempted by ACPHO? If you do this will ACPHO then connect to and then access these drives?
If/when you access these drives with Explorer are you asked for credentials?
If you are prompted for credentials by Windows when attempting to access via Explorer then you probably need to update Windows credentials for these shares which in turn should get things working.
