Acronis Cloud Backup Experiencing Anomalies
I have cloud backups setup on multiple computers. They have been running for about 2 months now on a set schedule.
I noticed yesterday that one of them wasn't backing up anymore.
I pulled up Acronis, and found the schedule was missing. I recreated it, and am again receiving notifications about successful backups.
But some stuff seems off:
- The first backup was a complete backup, instead of an incremental one. The backup size is now twice the previous size.
- The Activity log on the local computer is blank. When you click the icon, you can see backups have ran.
- The online dashboard seems to be flaky for that computer. I can see the data, but under devices it wasn't showing connected, or that multiple recent backups had ran.

What symptoms did you experience when that happened?

Did not notice for some time; only adverse outcome was a larger backup files.

Hi Jacob.
Based on the information you provided, it sounds like there may be some configuration or connectivity issues that are causing these problems, as you mention the device appears as offline.
Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
-
Check your internet connection: Ensure that your computer is connected to the internet and that there are no connectivity issues. You can try pinging the Acronis server to see if there are any delays or packet loss.
-
Verify the backup schedule: Double-check that the backup schedule is correctly configured and that it's running on the expected frequency. You can try setting up a test backup to see if it completes successfully.
-
Make sure the agent is up to date.
-
Regarding the large backup it's expected if the machine didn't executed backups for several days/weeks.
If the issue persists, please reply here or contact our support https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153
Hope this helps!

Hey John,
Unfortunately, it’s still having issues. See my notes below:
- Wired connection, backup is set to run daily. Internet has 900 down. Pings fine and no issues with the other applications on this computer.
- Backup schedule worked fine for 2 months without me touching it. One day it just stopped working.
- Agent is up to date.
- This is a computer I use to host stuff. The original backup was only 120GB (base windows install with some web applications). I would not expect the backup to double in size, when very little data changed.
- Acronis cloud console says error 0xFFFF81D4 backup failed
- The local client says the backup has successfully completed
- The log shows cleanup and it running everyday
- I'm not receiving any emails for this backup
- Other backups send me emails upon completion, setup through email notifications on the cloud.

Hello Jacob.
I suggest you raising a ticket with the troubleshooting steps and the system report of the machine attached. Seems this needs further investigation https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153.
