Acronis True Image for WD 2023 Cloning Wizard Stuck on Disk Usage Step

Thread needs solution

I am trying to clone my C drive from a 1TB Samsung Evo 870 to a new WD_Black SN870x 1TB NVMe. The file size is 190 GB. Both drives are currently installed on the computer.

I am using the simple cloning wizard and when I get to the Disk Usage step I select "to replace a disk on this machine" A pop-up with a clock appears then disappears about 15 seconds later leaving me on the Disk Usage page. I have tried multiple times and get the same result. I am unable to progress past this point. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Please see 2201: Support for OEM Versions of Acronis Products. Basically, support for such products is the responsibility of the OEM. However, forum members can offer so assistance, bearing in mind that there are differences between OEM versions and ACPHO/ATI.

The approach many experienced uses adopt is to first create a backup of the system "disk". Creating a backup is important, as things can go wrong, for example a blackout which can result is damage to both the existing disk and the new disk. Then create a Windows RE recovery media (called "simple" in the documentation), and then use it to restore the backup to the new drive.
