Acronis True Image For Western Digital Leaves Unallocated Space

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I'm trying to clone a 500MB HDD to a 1000MB SSD. When doing so it's leaving a partition of unallocated space that I would like to have combined with the allocated usable space. I've tried to clone the drive automatically, and then extend the partition with Windows 10, but it loses the cloned files in the process. What would I have to do to clone everything over, and take advantage of the drives full capacity?

Hello!

We don't directly support OEM versions. You can contact WD directly and request support: Link to WD Support

You can check their instructions here: Link to WD Instructions

Best regards.

WD is telling me that it can't be done, that if I clone a 500MB drive to a 1TB drive that I have to create two partitions, and can't clone it all to one partition that takes advantage of the full 1TB. If I buy the full-blown software would I be able to do this?

You would probably be better off using the free version of MiniTool Partition Wizard to recover the "free" space.
