Acronis True Image - What happened?

Thread needs solution

I have been using Acronis True Image for decades, from a time when most people never heard of it. It was the best there was. I just uninstalled Acronis True Image 2021. I have always started my backups around 3:00 am. My computers are never turned off. Lately it completely ignores my schedule and starts backups at peak activity in the morning around 8 or 9 am. I have 64 GB ram 32 cpu cores (Xeon) on Windows 11 yet everything else comes to a grinding halt. I have no idea how that could happen but uninstalling Acronis fixed it. What happened?

Allen, it is quite possible that uninstalling ATI 2021 and then later reinstalling it would resolve the issue with the scheduled 3:00am task not running on time, assuming that the issue is not caused by a change to the computer power options for wake timers.

An alternative option would be to launch your backup task from the Windows Task Scheduler instead of using the Acronis Scheduler.

See KB 47143: Acronis True Image: How to run backups from Command Line for more information on the command line format needed to use with Task Scheduler.
