Add Date and/or Time to ACPHO file - How?
I am using i trial version of Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office build 40729 and are trying to edit the backup script located in C:\ProgramData\Acronis\CyberProtectHomeOffice\Scripts. The goal is to add date and time stamps to the file name ACPHO creates. IOW, instead of getting the default name such as Backup_full_b1_s1_v1.tib i prefer Backup_2023-10-18_1730_full_b1_s1_v1.tib. In earlier versions it was easy, open the script file, edit and save.
Now when i save i cannot save the script file, only overwrite but when i try i am told that i am forbidden to open the file and that i must ask to be the owner of the file or ask an administrator for permission. I am the administrator on my computer and have full premissions. (See the attached image)
Is there a way to do it?
- All protection is disabled in ACPHO
- Win 11

Yes, i had installed everything, including the protection. :)
I did uninstall > restart computer > new custom install > restart computer and this time it kind of worked. If i open the script file and do the edit i still cannot save it/overwrite it. I get the same errors.
I have to save it to another location and then delete the original script file from C:\ProgramData\Acronis\CyberProtectHomeOffice\Scripts and then copy the modified script file from the new location back to C:\ProgramData\Acronis\CyberProtectHomeOffice\Scripts. Now when i launch ACPHO it works as expected and the .tib file is named the way i want.
I moved away from Acronis to Macrium +1 year ago and started a trial now to see how Acronis do today. I see improvements but still miss the ability to change the naming in an easy way. Now it´s even harder than before and even impossible if protection is there.
It would be great if a "renaming" feature could find it´s way into the MVP Assistant so one can go to Acronis Configuration in MVP Assistant and select the backup job and then click on the Script File tab and there have the ability to edit the file and add lets say @task@--@date@--@time@_.tib and then save it. Even better, make it possible to do it even if the protection is installed. (BrunoC - Please make it happen! :) )
Side note:
Why does the Acronis web site only host MVP Assistant 1.0.1 that is incompatible with ACPHO? Current version is 2.7.4 and works as expected.

I think the renaming may be a dangerous road to go down. And if protection is installed, it would not be very good if I could easily bypass it in my Assistant. For now though, I will ponder on it.
As for the side note... that is a very good question and one for which I have no answer. The issue has been raised more than once.

It seems that it doesn´t work to add parameters such as @date@ and @time@ to the backup script anymore as the result is not what it was in True Image. At first it seems to work as expected and the very first backup comes out with the correct date/time in the file name. All subsequent backups comes out with the very same date/time in the file name as the very first one...
This a a FF backup, only taking full backups, the modification of the scrips file were done before any backup were run. I see this in all other tests as well so it seems that this "feature" is broken today.
It´s a pity since the wast majority of competitors out there do it either out of the box or letting the end user add it easily once and then all files comes out with the correct date/time. Much easier to find files at a glance when needed when the time/date can be found in the file name.
Please bring it back to ACPHO. :)
