Backup cannot find full tib file that exists

Thread solved

I'm getting a message saying backup cannot find D:\xxx_full_b28_s1_v1.tib.  The file exists.

I click the browse button in the dialog, navigate to the file, click on it, and click the Add button.  Backup continues running for a few minutes and then displays the error message again.  I've done this process at least a dozen times.

Can you please help me solve this problem?

John, welcome to these public User Forums.

The usual reason for this type of issue is when backup files have been deleted using Explorer instead of using the options provided by Acronis.

The issue that is created is that metadata for the backup task is not updated, nor is information stored in the internal Acronis database updated either.

The method that you can use to try to resolve this issue is as follows:

  1. Delete the backup task that created these backup files from the ACPHO main GUI using the option to only remove the settings, not to delete everything!

  2. Next, use the option to 'Add existing backup' - this is hidden behind a caret 'v' to the right of the normal + Add backup button.

  3. Select either the most recent backup file from your storage drive, or the Full backup file as the existing backup file to be added.

  4. A new backup task will be added to the GUI using the file name of the file chosen in 3.  You can rename the task at this point to remove any extra characters used, plus you will need to Reconfigure the task, i.e. choose the Source and Options for the task.

  5. Note: you may also want to run a Validation for the new task to ensure that all the associated files are identified.
