Backup Failure

Thread solved

I've been having intermittent backup failures with one computer while another backs up without a problem.

With nightly backups of the C: drive, sometimes the backup performs ok. Usually, it takes several attempts to succeed. occasionally it gives up after 4 or 5 tries. From the error messages, the hangup appears to be one particular partition on the C drive, the  99MB Healthy (EFI System Partition) not having enough room.

Attached are the Acronis VSSDoctor Report, Disk Management diagram, Shadow Copy Error from the log, and the ti_demon log.

I'd appreciate any help.

Tyler, I don't think the space issue for the EFI System partition is the cause of the backup failures here.

The main errors are related to the Microsoft VSS snapshot service and the VSS Doctor report lists lots of different errors for the same.

If the particular computer does not get restarted / rebooted very often, then doing a restart of Windows may help with clearing any intermittent issues.

Otherwise, I would suggest trying the following commands from an Administrator command prompt to ensure that there are no OS issues at play.

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
SFC /scannow

Steve,

Your recommendations seemed to work. There were OS problems which were taken care of with DISM and SFC.

Thanks.
