Backup Only At the Scheduled Time

Thread needs solution

Hi there,

How do I prevent my computer from backing up if it was turned off and missed a day.

I set it to backup around 5PM each day, but when I miss a day and I turn it on it starts to backup which slows down my computer quite a bit.

Thanks!

Hello!

Welcome to our forum.

You need to uncheck the following box in the console: Run missed operations at the system startup with delay (in minutes)

Best regards.

Thanks for getting back to me.  That box was always unchecked yet it ran the missed backup anyway.  I've attached a pic in case I'm misunderstanding.

Thanks!

Not sure why I'm not able to upload the file.  It's smaller than the size requested and is in the format requested.  Anyway, as I mentioned above that box has always been unchecked.

Thanks!

Hello!

If you have all those boxes unchecked, and the backup starts to run immediately (outside of the schedule — note that if you turn on the machine around the time of the backup schedule, there's nothing we can do; the backup will always start at the scheduled time) when you power on the computer, please raise a ticket with our support at https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153. That would require an investigation.

Regarding the screenshots, the forum has issues with the attachment of files. Soon there will be a migration to a new platform, and hopefully, everything will be working properly.

Best regards.
