Clone Disk

Thread needs solution

Hi, my first post on the forum.

I am trying to clone a 250Gb SSD to a 1TB HDD - both internal drives that are currently working.  I'm doing this because I am running out of room on my C:\ drive.

When I use the Acronis Clone Wizard, everything looks fine until the end, when it starts the cloning but then finishes in a two seconds, saying cloning finished successfully.  But inspecting my HDD using Explorer nothing seems to have happened and my SSD has not cloned to my HDD.

I've raised a support ticket, but experience tells me that is a very slow way of resolving an Acronis issue.  Wondering if other forum users might be able to help me work out what is going wrong.

I'm using Windows 10.

Hello David. Thanks for you contacting.

Here are some possible solutions to solve the issue with the clone:

1- Try again: The cloning process may fail on the first attempt. Restart your computer and try again. If the problem persists, try cloning from another computer to make sure it's not your system.

2- Can happen the clone is there but it's not visible on the Windows explorer, I would advised you to follow this KB to check it: https://kb.acronis.com/content/61878

3- Check your hard drive: It is possible that your hard drive is corrupt and the cloning process cannot be completed as a result. Check your hard drive for errors and repair them if necessary.

Use an older version of Acronis True Image: If cloning doesn't work with the current version of Acronis True Image, try an older version that worked successfully in the past.

If the problem persists, please contact our support for further assistance because this needs troubleshooting (or reply on the support ticket you have raised ). Please include all relevant details about the problem so that support can assist effectively.
