Cloud storage backup with Acronis

Thread needs solution

Cloud storage like OneDrive, Google Drive and Yandex Drive to backup with Acronis CPHO, I have to remove exclusions from files excluded from backup? In backup Options

Is this cloud storage backup recommended?

What about files eg that are on OneDrive but Not in my Windows 10-11 PC… in other words I have settings in one-drive sync only wanted files/folders, Not all files,… these files will Not get back up, correct???

Leonidas, Acronis does not back up files not stored on your local, physical disk drive, i.e. those files stored in a remote cloud server - these are stored as reparse points in local storage and Acronis does not process or follow reparse points.

Ok

suppose in w11 oneDrive choose in a PC files saved local and cloud in other words always keep sync with a local copy always present in this PC

if remove the one drive directory location uri from excluded files in backup

i am able to backup those correct???

If OneDrive files are being synced to the cloud then they may also be locked by OneDrive which can prevent Acronis from being able to back them up.

Including OneDrive locations when using their Files-On-Demand feature (to save local disk space) will generate errors for all files being shown as reparse points and not stored locally.

/onedrive/Vault/

is the secure location of sensitive onedrive files

Do you mean by your reply, avoid try in the backup include onedrive folder? Or can try and review if worked as a result? In my case

Sorry but you will need to try this for yourself with your OneDrive usage pattern.  I only use OneDrive for files that are never sensitive and don't use the Files on Demand feature either, so my files are either kept locally or else duplicated on my other systems using the same OneDrive account.  I have never used the Vault feature of OneDrive.

Ok

i was meaning exclude vault subfolder and include rest onedrive folder

so if onedrive files are located local in PC should be included in backup, otherwise if some files are not in pc but on the onedrive cloud, should NOT be INCLUDED in the backup

so is worth trying …?

Try it, if it fails then you will know it does not work.
