How to clone and resize a 500GB boot disk to a larger 2 TB new SSD

Tutorial

Hi, I apologize in advance if this has been asked before. I'm new to Acronis and I couldn't find the answer in my search.

I'm trying to upgrade a windows 10 - 500GB nvme boot drive to a 2 TB SSD drive. When I clone with Acronis, it won't let me enlarge the C partition to anything larger than the original size. It always tries to create a new C partition of around 465 GB and a separate partition for the remaining disk space. Is there any way to make the bootable (C) partition as large as the new drive will allow?  On the new drive, I basically want just 1 partition for the C drive, plus any required recovery partitions. Thanks

Web Master, welcome to these public User Forums.

If you have already done a successful clone from the 500GB drive to the 2TB one, then don't try to repeat the cloning to achieve a different result!

If your new SSD is larger than the original one, then you may find that ATI has not expanded the C: OS partition to use the full new size of the new SSD.  If so, then this is quite simple to resolve as below:

First, download a copy of the free MiniTool Partition Wizard software, install this, then use it to move the Windows Recovery partition (that is shown after the C: OS partition) to the end of the available unallocated space.

Next, resize the C: OS partition to use the available unallocated space.
