How to disable Cyberprotect?
Hello,
as Acronis decided to transform their backup software to a hybrid endpoint security app, I have switched vendors. Unfortunately I sometime have to use Acronis to access my old backups and so I rebought and have it installed, but disabled everything (afaik). Haven't activated anything with protection and still...
I got a Acronis autostarting. I got a ressource consuming CyberProtectHomeOfficeMonitor.exe + 4 other Acronis processes running in the background (tib_mounter_monitor.exe, schedul2.exe, scdhlp.exe, mms_mini.exe, aakore.exe)
I get a report in the app, that it made a vulnerability assessment at 08:00 am.
I didn't want any of this. I want it off. It's ok to do these shenanigans if I run the software.
How can I disable the autostart of all this.

Christoph, what older version were you using that created the backups you currently have? Did you have a subscription or was it a perpetual license? If you had a perpetual license, I suggest installing that and then creating a rescue media. You could then uninstall the app and just use the rescue media when you want to do a restoration.

Hello,
yes I bought ACPHO on a subscription and I had all the former versions as a perpetual version. I bought the ACPHO just to be "safe" for Windows 11. To be safe, assuming more bugs are fixed with this version.
Actually a .tib file explorer, even a third party one, would be sufficient.
I'm pretty sure I didn't select anything related to protections while I was installing the product. The protection tab looks like this:
Checking the installation page, I'm 100% sure I did only select the first item and yes, reading it now it states there is a core protection included. At least this answers where all these processes come from.
@BrunoC
The idea of using the rescue media is not that bad, but I use the old backups for file recoveries. Then again, I could run this disk from a VM. I will think about it:)

Christoph, using the MVP Assistant, you can go to the Acronis Configuration page and disable the listed features. Disabling online dashboard will disable the mms service. From the Startup tab of Task Manager you can disable the Acronis apps that will start. This should be fine if you never schedule any backups. Also from the MVP Assistant, you could disable the internal ga (Google Analytics) tasks.
