How to keep deleted files at the source in the cloud?

Thread needs solution

Hello all

I use the trial version of Acronis Cyber Protect Home office and what I see  now is that if I delete a file in my computer then the cloud version is also deleted right away. That is not what I want since I could accidentally delete it.

How can I make the setting that this is not synced but that the deleted file does stay in the cloud ?

Thanks for support

Andreas

Hello Andreas,

Welcome to the forum.

It's expected that if you delete a file now and then execute the backup, this new recovery point won't contain that file. It will only back up what's on the machine at the moment of the backup. The agent takes a snapshot of the disk and includes in the backup whatever is on the machine.

You need to create a backup scheme that doesn't immediately delete the previous backups and recovery points. This way, you'll be able to recover the old files. You can find more information about this here: Acronis Backup Scheme https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATI2023/#16515.html…

Feel free to comment if you have any questions.

Thanks in advance!
