Last version of ATI Standard. After 2021 version perpetual license will be canceled.
I've got a e-mail:
"Hello, For a limited time, save 50% on Acronis True Image 2021 Standard * the perpetual-license version of our award-winning personal cyber protection solution. If you prefer perpetual licenses for your software, you won’t want to miss this opportunity. That’s because perpetual licenses will not be available for future editions of Acronis True Image – making this your last chance to upgrade your cyber protection unless you switch to a subscription."
How many of you uses subscription for Acronis True Image? For me standard license always been the best solution. Because updates are not necessary every year. I think it's bad move. It looks like 2021 will be my last version.

The licensing thing sucks but lets be honest here. The 2021 version of True Image is a bloated system invading mess of a product and a massive slap in the face to the loyal customers...........I wouldn't buy it even if it was for £1.
Why can't Acronis just make the product like it was in the early 2000s? I know they want to make money with all these useless features bloating up the product (especially the unnecessary anti virus stuff) but this software is supposed to "save the day" when disaster strikes not cause disasters by installing their software.
The recovery boot media at least hasn't been ruined (for now?).

I've always used perpetual licenses. I have a standard license of 2021 I received for my participation in the 2021 beta test. TI 2021 is just too bloated with all the malware and AV pieces that have been added to the product. I've already moved on to Macrium Reflect.

Lukas, there has been a lot of discussion in the forums on this topic!
See True Image 2021 Perpetual version - Incremental vs. Differential and scheduled backups
and Acronis moving away from perpetual licenses
and True Image 2021 Perpetual License?
and Reflecting on a Post-ATI World
Put simply, Acronis has divided user opinion by the recent changes they have introduced, including this move away from perpetual licenses and the imposition of new Cyber Protection features etc!

I got the same e-mail. I have got to say this must be one of the worst pieces of marketing ever.
If I like perpetual licenses versions (which I do), why would I want to ever buy a product that's never going to offer such licenses again ? It just doesn't make any sense.
The cloud version doesn't make any sense to me, as long as Comcast limits my upload speed to 40 Mbps. It would take 13 consecutive DAYS for a full backup of my main desktop that contains about 6TB of data. Backing it up to my NAS with a 10Gbps connection only takes about two hours.
I guess I'll be staying on True Image 2019 until I find another replacement product if it stops working on Windows 11.

I use subscription based solutions when they make sense to do so. Have done so for years with security suites, tax software, and most recently with Office 365. For me it is only a matter of ditching my old security suite in favor of the Acronis Cyber Protect offering. A simple exchange for me.
If you believe your current solutions to security are sufficient then stick with them, I am not on that page however. If you want a stagnant backup solution that may or may not work for you in the future, stay with that, I am not on this page either as I see the world of storage, backup, etc. evolving into a new realm today. I do not intent to be left behind.

I would be willing to transfer to a subscription based license from the "perpetual" license which I upgrade each year anyway but ONLY if the "add on" security features (which I have been able to avoid thus far by continuing with the "perpetual license") are made OPTIONAL in the subscription based product.

Acronis has officially joined the ranks of extreme capitalism. You'll never own anything but you'll pay much more than you ever did, all the same! I was wondering how long it would take. I suppose I'm still good with my ATI2020 until a convenient OS patch no longer allows it. lol
Time to review Macrium. Thx to all here who mentioned it!
