Load Backup form Win10 to Win11

Hi, 

apologies for a a noob question: Old laptop is running on Win 10, new laptop has Win11 pre-installed. Using Acronis True Image. What do I ave to do in order to load the backup onto the new laptop? Thanks for any helpful hint and cheers!

Thanks for reaching out.

Recovering the backup into a different operating system is not possible or supported.

What you can do is install the program on the new OS, add the old backups (https://kb.acronis.com/content/60918), and recover the files manually in Windows Explorer: https://kb.acronis.com/content/63240

Am I correct in assuming that the old PCV cannot be upgraded to Windows 11. If it can be upgraded to Windows 11 then do so, make backup and then recover to the new PC. This will only work if the two PCs run the same type of Windows - Home, Pro, Enterprise ..

Make sure you activate Windows on the new computer before do the recovery.
