Local backup not showing in systray notifications
The latest local backup does not show in Systray list as per screen print attached. No big deal as it's of limited use, but puzzling.

Yes I am logged in as the same user, strangely the issue is intermittent, last night's backup is now showing!

The system tray notifications list is another feature which I very rarely look at and not particularly of much value - more a gimmick than useful!
I tend to open the main GUI and look at the Activity page for my backups to check status!

Me too, and this only an annoyance rather than a major problem, but with other issues - as discussed elsewhere - I fear Acronis' days may be becoming numbered for me!

Hello Everyone,
if I'm not mistaken, the Tray displays only those events that happen while the main product console is closed, so that a user does not miss something. I've created a change request to show all events in Tray.

Thanks Ekaterina, would seem to make more sense to me.

Hi Ekaterina,
The behaviour is I see is worse than you describe:
I have two admin users. Acronis 2021 was installed under my login. If I am logged in, the 2nd system tray icon appears when a scheduled backup is running and the outcome of the scheduled backup is listed when clicking on the Acronis icon in the system tray. If the other admin user is logged in and I am not logged in, the outcome of the schedule backup is not listed when clicking on on the system tray icon and the 2nd icon does not appear when the backup is running. Logging back in under my login, the scheduled backup is still not listed in the system tray. This did not occur with Acronis 2020.
Several weeks ago a reported the problem with the 2nd icon not coming up to Support with Acronis 2020.
"[04594723] Task bar icon missing during backup [ ref:_00D30Zcb._5001T1Pl5kb:ref ]"
They asked that I enable the hidden admin user (no password). Yes, this fixed the behaviour temporarily for Acronis 2020.
I also tried enabling the hidden admin user for Acronis 2021 when my 2nd admin user was logged in. Yes, this permits the correct display/logging, but is not a fix as I cannot leave the hidden admin login enabled.
There is some sort of permissions issue occurring than needs to be fixed.
Regards,
Michael Bennett

Hello Michael,
thank you for additional details! I've checked your open ticket - the repair installation temporary fixed the issue, but then it reproduced again. Please continue working with the support team, in the meantime I'll raise the issue to the RnD to get clarification regarding the hidden account.

This problem persists in Build 40173 as per attached screen print, the latest backup is missing from list. The built-in Admin account is disabled

Hello DrMopp,
thank you for letting us know about the issue! I'll clarify what is the current designed behavior to see if it's a technical problem and if not, if we plan to change the logic.

Hi DrMopp,
For me after upgrading to Build 40173, I had to stopping running my previous backup configuration and create a fresh one from scratch, absolutely identical except for its name. Now created fresh under this build, the system tray list correctly shows all the backups that have run when logged in with each the two admin users I have set up.
As you can read in my post above, this was a problem for me with earlier versions, so they must have fixed it.

Michael Bennett - thanks, but all my tasks were recreated after installing 40173 and the issue persists.

Dear DrMopp,
Thank you for the update. We would kindly ask you to open a support ticket in case the issue persist even after the update.

Daria I have opened a ticket, since the issue was definitely present today with the last listed nightly backup being on the 4th of Nov even though the same task ran successfully last night (7th Nov)

Dear Bob,
Thank you for the update. We have prioritized your case in our internal system just to make sure.

Daria I had a telephone reply to my log no. 05565308, in which I was advised to ignore the systray list and use email notifications (which I do already), and on that basis you would be closing the case. Prioritized?

Dear DrMopp,
I am not a support engineer, and I wasn't conducting your case, just did my best to help you. If you disagree that the case was closed, please let us know, because as I can see in our internal system you confirmed the solution.
Also, I can prioritize only open cases.

Daria Sorry you seem to have taken my last post personally. I know you are not a support engineer and that you were not responsible for my case, and when I referred to 'you' closing the case I meant Acronis as an organisation not you personally. As for accepting the solution, the engineer who called told me to use the email notifications rather than the system tray list and said that he would be closing the case. I suppose I could have insisted he did not, but it really isn't that important to me, and I only opened the case in response to a request from Ekaterina

Dear DrMopp,
Thank you for clarification and willingness to help. Also, we will try to investigate about the issue and support engineer behavior.
