Long-time user of Acronis. maintaining 6 laptops - 2 win7, 2 win10, 2 win11

Latest computer dell win 11 will not show internal HD target on recovery

Spent hours / 10 days with Dell and Acronis tech with no results

created bootable USB using many methods from simple to advanced - latest try Acronis log in the tech used (tool) to create custom bootable media - no luck - Latest attempt turned off bit locker - no success.

Any thoughts?

David, welcome to these public User Forums.

What internal drive does the Dell Win 11 laptop have and what device driver / controller does that drive use?

My first assumption here is that it might be using an Intel VMD controller for the drive for which additional drivers need to be added to the Acronis 'Simple' WinPE version of rescue media - this is because there are no current automatic inclusion of this type of driver for rescue media.

Note: if BitLocker encryption is enabled for the internal drive, then again you need to use the 'Simple' WinPE version of the rescue media then unlock the encryption before the drive will be visible when booted from that media.  If you have already turned off BL and decrypted the drive and it isn't shown, then the first assumption is more likely.

See forum topic: ThinkPad P16s - cannot boot from acronis USB boot media which has covered some of the same ground with another user recently in the forum.
