Message unable to access file

Thread needs solution

I have installed Acronis true image for western digital and made a disk backup (system SSD win10 including uefi partition and restore partition) a month ago.

After making the backup to an internal HDD, I switched off the HDD in windows management console so it would be invisible and not being used.

Today I updated acronis for a newer version and switched on the HDD again, and it shows up nicely with the backup file present, however now every time I wanted to make a new backup with the original backup scheme, I got this annoying message that the destination location was unreachable, however I could navigate there without problems with windows explorer.

Basically I could not make a recent backup anymore.

I had to delete the backup configuration in acronis and create a new one, then the backup went ok as normal, but now I cannot see the old backup file anymore showing up in acronis, I do see it when navigating to the location on the drive with explorer.

WHY? How come... I also noticed that a few times Win10 complained about this access to the file destination as not being allowed but I made an exception in the windows safety settings for this, still no access unless I delete the programmed task and make a new one....
