Dan,
The term x64 and AMD64 are both used for 64-bit architecture and is not of concern. On my system, I find that the upper left pane of the builder says:
Microsoft Windows Recovery Environment (x64)
but if I select the Image/Source menu item, it shows:
Architecture: AMD64
The use of AMD64 does not mean it thinks it's an AMD processor.
As to the message in red... that is something to indicate that there are pending updates in the builder which require the image to be mounted to apply the updates. This message only appears in Advanced mode because in EZ-Mode if you just run a build it will automatically mount the wim to apply the changes. In Advanced mode, the image must be explicitly mounted.
A new project will always have pending changes as there are things always placed into the image.
If you run the Image/Mount command, it should mount the image. That can take a little bit of time and there should be progress shown in the status bar at the bottom of the window, as well as a spinning cursor to show something is happening. If there is a failure to mount the image, there should be an error shown in the status bar. Also, use the Project/Open log file command to see if there may be an error.

One last question... is an Acronis deinstall then reinstall the quickest way to resolve this versus trying to fight to find the corruption issue/problem which I think happened ? Just thinking out loud !

Dan, I don't think a reinstall of Acronis would have any bearing on your situation.
We've got discussion getting mixed up with two forum topics and I think it best to go back to your other topic...

I tend to think there is an issue with your wim file in your recovery partition and Enchantech has some interesting comments in the other forum topic. A problem with the wim would have nothing to do with Acronis.
