Not a happy customer (since 2014)....

Thread needs solution

My first was True Image in 2014.

It worked just fine for the one machine I cared about.

Now however I have a couple Windows PC machines plus a number Linux machines.

In 2022 I bought a 3 machine license for workstations (Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office).

First of all it is a total misnomer. A lot of home offices have a server as well but there is NO provision in this product to back it up as well.

Setting up backups is clumsy and crude. There are a number of opensource (freeware) products that have a much better gui.

Furthermore, what ever happened to the 3-2-1 backup strategy? Try doing that with this product. There are no facilities for copying backups to another machine while doing the backup itself. That is part of the original 3-2-1 backup strategy. Heck there isn't even an option to make a second copy. All this SHOULD be able to be done locally at the very least. There should also be the option to send the second copy off to another machine (or NAS).

Having given this product almost a year to prove itself I believe it's time to move to a product that can effectively do the 3-2-1 backup strategy with ease.

Hello Glenn,

Welcome to the forum.

The Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office, like Acronis True Image, is designed for end users, so it's expected that it doesn't support servers. We have a range of different products for that purpose, and there aren't any plans to support it in the future.

Regarding the 3-2-1 strategy, it's not possible because backups to the cloud require an Advanced/Premium subscription. Since the cloud always serves as the 3rd location, implementing the strategy is not feasible.

In this situation, you could create different plans for the various locations you have, as described in this KB: https://kb.acronis.com/content/62741#solution

As for the software itself, please note that we offer and support a range of security options included with the backups. We appreciate your feedback.

Best regards.
