Problem with Acronis and Bitdefender (conflict?)

Thread needs solution

Goodmorning.

Sorry in case of my bad english.
Seems that Acronis and Bitdefender conflict, this noticed immediately after installed Bitdefender, because I was simply thinking Bitdefender heaviness the system, but next days I noticed less often the system heaviness, it happens occasionally now (folder on desktop opens after about 1 minute, start menu too after circa 1 minute).

Acronis used only for scheduled system backup, I turned completely off Acronis antimalware feature, because I use Bitdefender software separately.

I think the problem is because of Acronis is always checking in background for system changes, which, however, Acronis saves in the single backup file (.tibx) only at the scheduled time.

I think the problem is present to anyone using both Acronis and Bitdefender.

In addition to the perceptible system heaviness, after Bitdefender got installed, Acronis created a second .tibx backup file, why? Before this I got all the backups in the single .tibx file, now Acronis backups daily in both .tibx file, specularly. (???)

The second backup file it just added "-0001" at the end of .tibx file name (-0001.tibx)

First original backup file: "KINGSTON SKC3000D2048G EIFK31.6.tibx"
Second (extra) backup file: "KINGSTON SKC3000D2048G EIFK31.6-0001.tibx"

Both .tibx files include same thing, all history of backups made, but the two .tibx got different file sizes.. first is 375gb, second is 340gb

If possibile to use both Acronis and Bitdefender without problems, someone need a fix, who?

Hello Mario.

Please check the following KB:

Acronis True Image 2021: using two or more antivirus solutions on the same computer is not recommended

https://kb.acronis.com/content/67117

Regarding the situation with the increasing files, please check this KB: https://kb.acronis.com/content/63444

For example, if you run the backup 7 times, using the default setting Create a full version after every 5 incremental versions it will produce:

  • 1 full backup, stored in "System partition.tibx"
  • 5 incremental backups, stored all in the same file "System partition.tibx"
  • 1 new full backup, stored in "System partition-0001.tibx"

If you have any questions feel free to contact our support, specially regarding the situation with the A.Virus. I don't advise you to apply workaround for advanced features, they require troubleshooting and a real solution https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153

Thanks in advance.
