Problem creating BOOT CD or DVD from Acronis

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have the following issue with creating a BOOT DVD with Acronis True Image 2021 Build 39287 (licensed version for 5PC with registered licence number).

Working on an Dell XPS Windows 11 Professional (22H2), 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900HK   2.50 GHz, 64.0 Go

When trying to create a Rescue Boot DVD or CD the Acronis fails.

The detailed error message is as follows:

Le périphérique est occupé. (0x40010)

$module = "ti_managers_vs_39287"

backupmedia::BootableCDWriter::Burn: <a href='execute://%VS_PATH%\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe @c:\jenkins_agent\workspace\ati-main-win-ati\529\core\backup\cdrecord\bootable_cd.cpp /command "Edit.GoTo 97"'>

c:\jenkins_agent\workspace\ati-main-win-ati\529\core\backup\cdrecord\bootable_cd.cpp(97)</a>

When creating an iso file the iso file is created.

When creating an USB stick the stick is created.

But my problem on the very old PC which I need to restore (I have an earlier TIB file), there is no USB and therefor I need an Bootable DVD or CD.

Earlier versions of Acronic were able to create the CD or DVD from within Acronis, why is this not working anymore in version 2021 ?

Since I do not want to enter into the Subscription plan - I will have to stay with my older version of acronis now ?
Why don't you sell any Perpetual licenses anymore? I bought every few years a set of 5 licenses for my newest PCs but I'm not interested in a subscription plan. Which got much more epensive then the perpetual licence plan.

If the target is to loose clients - you are on the best way ... I used Norton - they had a bad client politics and lost lots of clients. No Acronis is on the same way ... curious who will take over this market with the next solution of cloning and backup and restore software ...

Best regards

Martin, the error message is saying that the CD writer is busy which may suggest a problem in that area.

If you can create an ISO file, then you have the option of burning that ISO image to CD / DVD media using a third-party tool such as Rufus.

If your 'old PC' is very old, then you may be best to use Linux based media which you can also create via the Advanced option of the media builder (or download an ISO image from your Acronis account of the same).  That media is capable of working with both 32-bit and 64-bit systems.
